(Another) Four More Letters

Another week, another Arabic letter to write, another Arabic word to say.

Tuesday, September 29

On Tuesday we just did more exercises and drills from our textbook. One of them was to read Arabic words aloud, and oh how I cringed my way through it. It’s nice being fully online with my Arabic class, because I’m in the privacy of my dorm room and can mute myself while practicing my pronunciation. When learning a language, one definitely needs to get used to being embarrassed about getting things wrong.

Thursday, October 1

On Thursday we learned four new letters and how to write them: س [siin], ش [shiin], ص [Saad], and ض [Daad]. We also went over all of the vocabulary in this new chapter--there was a lot! I still need to figure out a better way to study my vocab. I need a masterlist of some sort; I’ll probably find my way over to Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel at some point.

Other than that, there is really nothing more to say. Although the amount of Arabic homework (and other homework in general) I have this weekend is awful.
