Last (Online) Class of Normalcy
Tuesday, May 11
Today was the last day of normal class online. It’s crazy to think that we’ll be in-person in the fall. Thursday is cancelled due to Eid-Fitr, which is the ending celebration of Ramadan. There was a lot of lecturing on grammar, which I love. The more my professor lectures, the less we have to participate. We also went over the homework and reviewed some other grammar constructs. While possessive pronouns are suffixes on nouns, object pronouns are suffixes on verbs. Class ended by figuring out when we were going to meet for our last class.
Friday, May 14
Professors should not be allowed to host classes or review sessions on Friday evenings. It’s like having a meeting at 4pm on a Friday (except my review session was at 5pm). No one wants to be there: -10/10, I would not recommend.
We went over the last quiz we took. I did kinda horrible on it… yikes. Probably a 12/20, if I’m generous. I’m hoping my constant attendance and participation in class, as well as my homework submissions, will boost my grade at the end.
After going over the quiz, we reviewed sentence structures. From what I have learned so far, there are two different kinds of sentences: nominal and verbal. Nominal sentences start with a noun and are followed by a predicate—which can be another noun, a verb, a prepositional phrase, or an iDaafa. Verbal sentences start with a verb and are followed by a noun, sometimes by an object as well. These sentence structures can be used pretty interchangeably. It is merely a different way of saying something.
My professor had told us that our review session would be only an hour. It was an hour and a half. Lucky, my dinner did not get cold.
My final exam is on Tuesday at 10:30am. If you think of me, say a prayer. I could use it.
