A False Calmness

Tuesday, November 10

Today was a pretty relaxed day. All we did was go through all the drills in the current unit we’re in, and then went over the unit’s vocabulary. No one was really feelin’ it today, and I know I plan on taking a nap after I finish sending some emails and completing some chores.

On a funny note, my professor taught us how to call someone an idiot… it’s the word for a donkey or a mule. However, I’ve already forgotten what the word is!

Also, we only have four classes left… it’s crazy how quickly the semester has flown by.

This week has been a more relaxed week, and it makes me nervous because we only have three classes left of the semester, and we’re not as close as I would like to be in finishing the textbook. I still don’t know the entire alphabet! But, I hope that means that the final exam will be a bit easier. (I’m probably naive for thinking that, though.)

Today we just did drills from the book, and some people asked questions to waste time and keep us from being thrown into the dreaded breakout rooms. None of us really know what is going on, but I’m comforted by the fact that I’m not alone.

On a happier note, my Arabic professor showed us one of her cats who was sitting on top of the bookshelf behind her. It definitely brightened my day.

Arabic Word of the Week
